You need your own vehicle. Distances between the northern, central and southern sections are long, and the lodges are scattered along dead-end valleys with no shuttle connections between them. Most hiking is on foot from trailheads at the park gates; a few of the rougher approaches, particularly towards the Sani Pass and the Mnweni area, need a 4x4.
