Getting There

Béja is on the main A3 motorway and rail line that runs west from Tunis toward the Algerian border. The drive from Tunis takes about 90 minutes; trains run several times a day and take roughly two hours. The station is in the lower town, a short walk from the medina.

Shared louages (long-distance taxis) connect Béja to Tunis, Jendouba (for Bulla Regia), and other towns in the northwest. The louage station sits beside the bus station on the edge of town. From Béja itself, a local taxi will take you out to Bulla Regia or Dougga for a negotiable fare — agree the price for the round trip and the wait time before setting off.
