Bizerte is 65 km north of Tunis and is straightforward to reach from the capital.
By car, take the A4 motorway north from Tunis (it terminates in Bizerte). The drive takes about an hour. Parking around the old port is metered but usually easy outside the summer high season.
By louage (shared taxi) from Tunis, the Bizerte louage stand is at Bab Saadoun in Tunis; vehicles leave when full, the journey takes about an hour and a half, and the fare is a few dinars. This is the standard way Tunisians make the trip.
By train, SNCFT runs several services a day from Tunis Ville station, taking around 90 minutes; fares are extremely cheap by European standards. The Bizerte station is a 20-minute walk from the old port.
By plane, the nearest airport is Tunis-Carthage (TUN), 90 minutes by car or louage. There is no airport in Bizerte itself.
