Eating Out

Entebbe has a decent spread of restaurants given its size, ranging from Ethiopian and Indian places near the airport to grilled fish shacks by the lake. The freshest and most characterful eating is along the waterfront, where tilapia and Nile perch pulled from Lake Victoria are grilled over charcoal and served with chips or matoke (cooked banana). Several resort hotels allow non-guests to eat at their lakeside restaurants, and this is often worth the slightly higher price for the setting.
