Hwange's Main Camp is reached from the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls road via the Cross Dete or Hwange town approaches. From Victoria Falls, allow around two to three hours to Main Camp depending on the gate and road condition. From Bulawayo, the drive is about five hours.
Sinamatella and Robins are more convenient from the Victoria Falls side but still require time on rougher park roads. A high-clearance vehicle is strongly recommended, and a 4WD is sensible if you plan to move between sectors or travel in the wet season. Fuel up before entering; distances inside the park are long and services are limited.
Several lodges and safari operators provide transfers from Victoria Falls. This is the easiest option if you do not want to self-drive. For independent travellers, book ZimParks accommodation in advance during the July-October dry season.
