The Long Set

Popular riverside bar with hammocks and cold beer for watching the slow river traffic

The Long Set is one of the better places in Kampot to settle for an afternoon. The bar occupies a deck over the Kampot River, with hammocks, rattan chairs, and table fans. The beer is cold. The music is generally acceptable. The river view — fishing boats, longtail taxis, the occasional monk crossing the bridge — keeps something happening.

A Happy Hour runs in the late afternoon. The bar food menu covers the basics without ambition: spring rolls, nachos, burgers. Most people drink rather than eat. In the evening the deck fills up, particularly on weekends when the town is busier. The bar tends to stay open as long as there are customers, which can be late.
