Kampot has a calm, lingering bar scene. The town is not a party destination — there are no clubs — but the riverside terrace bars are comfortable well into the night, and the expat community has created several places worth returning to. The night market near the river is where most local drinking happens. Reggae, chilled electronic music, and bad puns on Khmer words seem to be the enduring aesthetic.
