Things to Do

Kampot rewards slow travel. The town itself is walkable, and the riverfront is the natural gathering point for evenings. Cycling is the best way to reach the pepper farms and mangroves on the outskirts. The big excursion from Kampot is Bokor Hill Station — the ruined French colonial mountaintop resort that is one of the most atmospheric places in Cambodia. Kayaking on the river, visiting the nearby salt fields, and eating as much Kampot pepper as possible round out the experience.
