The town centre is compact enough to walk in about 20 minutes end to end. For the pepper farms, salt fields, and caves outside town, a bicycle (rented from most guesthouses for $1–2/day) covers the closer destinations. Motorbikes are available for $6–10/day and open up Bokor, Kep, and more distant spots. Tuk-tuks cluster near the roundabout for local trips; rates are negotiable and should be agreed before departure.
For Bokor, a return tuk-tuk to the gate costs around $15; a motorbike taxi for the round trip to the summit is similar. The drive up takes about 45 minutes each way on a good paved road. Most guesthouses can organise transport to Kep for day trips. There is no local bus system within Kampot.
