Access to Jiuhua Mountain is via train to Tongling or Chizhou (both on the Yangtze River rail line in southern Anhui), followed by a direct coach to the mountain gate. The journey from Tongling takes about 90 minutes by road; from Chizhou about 40 minutes. High-speed rail from Hefei to Chizhou takes about 90 minutes; from Nanjing about one hour.
Shuttle buses run within the scenic area from the entrance gate to the main monastery zone. A cable car connects the central area to Baisui Palace and the upper ridge section; the queue can be long on weekends and holidays. Walking between the main sites on the mountain takes most visitors a full day to cover the key temples and one trail section.
Accommodation is available inside the scenic area, ranging from simple guesthouses to larger hotels near the entrance. Staying overnight allows early-morning access before the day-trippers arrive and is strongly recommended for anyone who wants to experience the mountain's atmosphere without crowds.
