Guazhou's draws are archaeological rather than urban. The Yulin Caves to the south are the main reason to make the journey, and the Suoyang City Ruins nearby make a logical second stop on the same day. The Qiaowan Fort is a shorter detour on the road between Guazhou and Dunhuang. None of these sites are within walking distance of town — a private vehicle or the morning tourist bus is essential for combining them efficiently.
