Lingnan Tiandi is a renovated historic district in central Foshan, with Lingnan-style houses, narrow lanes, cafes, boutiques, and small cultural exhibitions. It is polished rather than raw, but the old brickwork and courtyard forms still give a good sense of the region's architecture.
It works best as a slow walk after visiting the Ancestral Temple nearby. Come in the late afternoon if you want the area at its liveliest, when the cafes fill and the restored lanes feel less like an outdoor museum.
