Meizhou is several hours by high-speed rail from Guangzhou, with direct G-trains now running since the high-speed line reached the city. The journey from Guangzhou East or Guangzhou South takes approximately two and a half to three hours. Meizhou's rail stations are on the outskirts of the city; taxis or buses connect to the city centre.
The Meizhou Meixian Airport, southwest of the city, operates flights to major Chinese hubs including Shenzhen, Beijing, and Shanghai — a useful option if you are coming from elsewhere in China rather than from the Pearl River Delta.
