Meizhou's interest is primarily cultural — the Hakka Museum, the Jianying Memorial Bridge, Lingguang Temple, and the surrounding countryside — rather than a concentrated urban circuit. The city is compact and easy to walk, but the most interesting excursions take you into the hills where Hakka villages, tea gardens, and quiet temples reward a day or two of exploration.
