Getting There

The Longji rice terraces are in Longsheng County, about 100 kilometres north of Guilin. Direct tourist buses run from Guilin bus station to both the Ping'An and Dazhai (Jinkeng) car parks — the journey takes about 2 hours. Alternatively, take a bus to Longsheng town and connect by local minibus to the terrace areas.

From the car parks, minibuses (included in the scenic area ticket or separately priced) run up the mountain to the villages, saving 30-45 minutes of steep climbing. The alternative is to walk up on stone paths from the car park, which most guesthouses recommend if you are arriving without heavy luggage and want to see the terraces gradually.

Overnight visitors typically leave luggage at guesthouses in the villages (carried up by porters with A-frames, a service available at the car park for a fixed fee) and walk in unladen. The scenic area entrance fee covers access to both Ping'An and Jinkeng areas.
