Getting Around

Guiyang has a metro system with four lines covering the main districts including both railway stations, the airport, Qianlingshan Park, the Jiaxiu Pavilion area, and Guanshanhu District. The network is modern, well-signposted in English, and cheap (2 to 5 yuan depending on distance). For most city-centre sights, the metro or walking is sufficient.

Taxis are metered and generally honest; the base fare is around 8 yuan. Didi works throughout the city and is useful for destinations like Qingyan Ancient Town (29 kilometres south) or Yelang Valley that are not on the metro network. For day trips to Anshun and the waterfall region, bus connections from the main bus station or high-speed rail from Guiyang North Station are both reliable options.
