Baoding Military Academy Museum preserves the story of one of modern China's most influential military schools. The academy trained many officers who later became major figures in Republican-era military and political history, giving the site national significance beyond Baoding itself.
The museum is most rewarding for travellers interested in late Qing and early Republican history. Its campus setting and historical exhibits help explain why Baoding was more than a provincial city in the early 20th century.
