Handan is on the Beijing–Guangzhou high-speed rail corridor and is served by frequent trains. Journey time from Beijing is about two hours; from Shijiazhuang about one hour; from Zhengzhou in Henan about forty-five minutes. The high-speed station is on the western edge of the city with good bus and taxi connections to the centre.
Handan also has conventional rail connections and a long-distance bus station with services across Hebei and to neighbouring provinces.
