Shijiazhuang is a major rail hub. The Zhengzhou–Taiyuan line and the Beijing–Guangzhou high-speed corridor both pass through the city, making it accessible from Beijing (about one hour by high-speed train), Taiyuan in Shanxi (about one hour), and further afield. The main high-speed station is Shijiazhuang station, centrally located.
The city also has an airport (Zhengding International Airport, renamed Hebei International Airport) with domestic services and some international routes. For most visitors arriving from elsewhere in China, the train is more practical.
Long-distance buses connect Shijiazhuang to cities in Hebei and neighbouring provinces, including Baoding to the north and Handan to the south.
