The Western Qing Tombs complex is large enough to occupy a full day. The four main imperial tombs — Tailing (Yongzheng), Changling (Jiaqing), Muling (Daoguang), and Chongling (Guangxu) — are spread through a forested valley and require a reasonable amount of walking between them.
The site is significantly less visited than the Eastern Qing Tombs. On weekdays, especially outside summer, it is possible to have large sections of the complex almost entirely to yourself — which is a genuinely unusual experience for a UNESCO World Heritage site in China.
