Enshi connects to Wuhan and Yichang by high-speed rail in about two hours, with direct trains also running to Chengdu and Chongqing — making it accessible as part of a broader loop through central China. Enshi Xujiaping Airport handles flights from major Chinese cities including Wuhan, Beijing, and Shanghai; the airport is about 30 kilometres from the city centre.
Within the prefecture, the Grand Canyon and Tusi City are best reached by taxi, private car, or with one of the day tours that operate from the city's main hotels. Public buses are available but infrequent; given the mountain roads and dispersed sites, hiring a driver for a day or two is a significant convenience.
