Huanggang is connected to Wuhan by high-speed rail from Huanggang West Station, about forty-five minutes east of the provincial capital. The rail and road corridors run along the Yangtze's north bank. For the Dabie Mountains, Luotian County (gateway to Tiantangzhai) is roughly two hours from the city by road; there is no direct rail connection, so hiring a car or joining a local tour is the practical approach. The city's main bus station connects to county seats throughout the prefecture.
