Huanggang's attractions divide between the literary history of the Huangzhou riverfront — Su Dongpo's exile memorials and the Yangtze landscape he wrote about — and the mountain scenery of the Dabie range to the north. The two require separate days and different transport; the city riverfront is easily walkable, while the mountain parks need a hired car.
