Huangshi is easily reached from Wuhan by high-speed train: services on the Wuhan-Huangshi intercity line take under 40 minutes, and trains run frequently throughout the day. The main station is Huangshi North (Huangshi Bei), in the northern part of the city; a second station at Daye North serves the mining heritage sites more directly.
Long-distance buses connect Huangshi to Wuhan, Jiujiang (in Jiangxi), and towns across southeastern Hubei. The bus station is central. Driving from Wuhan takes roughly an hour via the expressway along the southern bank of the Yangtze. There is no commercial airport in Huangshi — Wuhan Tianhe handles regional flights.
