Jingzhou rewards visitors with one of the finest Warring States–era museums in China, an intact circuit of ancient city walls, and a rich Three Kingdoms heritage. The Jingzhou Museum alone is worth the journey from Wuhan. The Guandi Temple and the ghost of Guan Yu's presence permeate the old city in a way that feels lived-in rather than manufactured.
