Zhanghua Temple is one of Jingzhou's important Buddhist sites, with roots going back to the Yuan dynasty. Its palace-style layout includes the Mahavira Hall, Guanyin Hall, and Amitabha Hall, giving the complex a more formal rhythm than a small neighbourhood temple.
The temple is counted among Hubei's notable historic monasteries and is protected as a provincial cultural heritage site. Come for the architecture and the quiet sense of continuity rather than for spectacle.
