Nanjing is well connected by high-speed rail. Nanjing South station (南京南站) is the main high-speed hub and one of the busiest railway stations in China. High-speed trains run to Shanghai (about 1 hour), Beijing (3.5-4 hours), and Hangzhou (2 hours). The older Nanjing station handles overnight trains and slower services.
Nanjing Lukou International Airport handles flights from most major Chinese cities and a number of international destinations in Asia. It is connected to the city centre by metro Line S1. A taxi to the centre takes 45-60 minutes depending on traffic.
By bus, Nanjing is 3-4 hours from Shanghai and about the same from Hangzhou, though the train is usually faster and more reliable.
