Jiangsu Province Kunqu Theatre is one of Nanjing's best places to see Kunqu opera, the refined classical theatre form that influenced many later Chinese stage traditions. Performances use sung dialogue and stylised movement, and some productions provide LED surtitles in English and modern Chinese.
It is worth considering even if you are new to Chinese opera, but check the schedule first because performances are not always daily.
