Dalian Sightseeing Tower is both a viewpoint and an excuse for a good urban walk. The tower has a restaurant near the top and broad views over the city, the harbour, and the surrounding hills.
The climb up can be the better part of the visit. A quieter side path leads through greenery in the middle of the city, giving you a break from Dalian's traffic before the skyline opens up from above.
