This modest lane-house museum preserves the Shanghai headquarters of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, founded by Korean independence activists in 1919 during Japanese colonial rule. The building served as the movement's main base from 1926 to 1932.
The site is maintained by South Korea and is strongest if you already know a little Korean modern history. Exhibits are mainly in Chinese and Korean, with little English, but the house adds an important international layer to the Xintiandi and former French Concession area.
