Shanghai is China's commercial centre and shops accordingly. The high-end mall scene clusters around Nanjing West Road (Plaza 66, Reel) and Huaihai Road (IAPM); the more interesting retail is in the smaller boutiques of the French Concession — Anfu Lu, Wukang Lu and Changle Lu for indie fashion, design and lifestyle stores. For markets, Tianzifang is a converted lane neighbourhood of small craft shops and souvenir stalls; the Dongtai Lu Antique Market trades everything from genuine Qing porcelain to Mao-era badges and propaganda posters. Note that genuine antiques over 150 years old cannot legally leave China without a red wax export seal.
