A private museum in the Aurora Mansion on the Lujiazui riverside dedicated to Chinese antiquities — bronzes, ceramics, jade, and calligraphy from the collection of the Aurora Foundation. The collection is not as encyclopaedic as the Shanghai Museum on the Bund side, but the museum is smaller and easier to navigate in an hour.
The building occupies the easternmost point of the Lujiazui peninsula directly opposite the Bund, giving the rooftop terrace one of the best views of the colonial waterfront in Shanghai. The combination of the art collection and the view makes this a worthwhile add-on to a Lujiazui observation deck visit. Open Tuesday–Sunday; admission charged. Century Boulevard approach.
