The circular park at the centre of the Lujiazui financial district is a deliberate counterpoint to the tower density surrounding it — a sunken green space ringed by the four supertall towers (Oriental Pearl, Jin Mao, SWFC, Shanghai Tower) that provides the most dramatic context for experiencing Lujiazui's vertical ambition. The park is used during working hours by office workers from the surrounding towers.
The view from within the green looking up at the encircling towers gives a sense of vertical scale impossible from ground level. The park also provides the best low-level views of the Bund across the river from the Pudong side. The riverside promenade connecting Lujiazui Green to the north Bund viewing area runs along the eastern Huangpu bank.
