Getting There

Jincheng is connected to Taiyuan by high-speed rail in about 90 minutes, making it accessible as a day trip or overnight stop from the provincial capital. The high-speed station is on the city outskirts, with taxi and bus connections to the centre. Trains from Zhengzhou to the east take around 70 minutes, which makes Jincheng a reasonable stop on a journey between Shanxi and Henan.

The Huangcheng Chancellor's Residence and the other mountain village sites are 40–50 km northeast of the city and require a taxi, hired car, or a local bus connection that is infrequent and inconvenient for most visitors. Hiring a car with driver for a day to cover the main village sites is the most practical approach. The city centre's Yuhuang Temple is walkable from the train station.
