Guo Moruo's Former Residence is a literary-history stop connected with one of modern China's prominent writers, historians, and public intellectuals. The preserved residence gives Leshan travelers a cultural counterpoint to the Giant Buddha and river scenery.
The site is most rewarding if you have some interest in twentieth-century Chinese literature or politics. It is not as universally compelling as Leshan's headline sights, but it adds texture to the region by grounding a national figure in a specific local place.
