Shigatse has a modest selection of Tibetan and Chinese restaurants, concentrated in the old quarter near the monastery. Western-style cafes have appeared in recent years catering to the overland traffic. Most travellers eat noodles, momos, and tsampa; finding a good meal is not difficult, though the options are limited compared to Lhasa.
