Irtysh River

The Irtysh River is the quiet geographical fact behind Burqin's existence. It is one of the few rivers in China that ultimately flows toward the Arctic Ocean, running west into Kazakhstan before joining the Ob system.

In town, the river is a place for evening walks and cool air after a day on the road. Out in the county, it frames the Colourful Beach and the broad, open feeling of northern Xinjiang.
