Sayram Lake is primarily a place to be rather than to do things: walk the shore, watch the horses, look at the wildflowers in June and July, and let the scale of the landscape work on you. The visitor who expects a resort with facilities will be disappointed; the one who wants an alpine lake with a genuinely pastoral character will find it here.
