Tianchi is 110 kilometres east of Ürümqi and accessible by bus or shared taxi from the city's long-distance stations; the journey takes about 90 minutes. Tour buses also run from the main Ürümqi hotels and tourist areas in summer. The entrance fee includes park admission; cable car and tourist bus inside the park are additional costs. Bring your own food and water — the lakeside facilities are serviceable but expensive and the trail sections have nothing.
