The Gaozhuang Xishuangjing area on the south bank of the Lancang River has become Jinghong's main after-dark draw — a sprawling complex of Dai-style pavilions, food stalls, bars, and small shops that fills up every evening from around 7 p.m. The food court covers most of the local cuisines you would want to try (grilled fish, pineapple rice, papaya salad, lemongrass chicken) and the prices are reasonable.
The whole development was built for tourists in the 2010s and feels it, but the night-market atmosphere is genuine enough and the music-and-dance shows on the central stage are fun. Easiest accessed by taxi or shared scooter from anywhere in the city.
