Xishuangbanna Zongfo Temple is one of the region's important Theravada Buddhist sites and is said to trace its origins back to the 7th century. The temple reflects Xishuangbanna's Dai and Pali-speaking Buddhist traditions, which make this corner of Yunnan feel quite different from much of inland China.
It is a worthwhile stop alongside Manting Park and the other temples around Jinghong.
