Katsarka Beach sits just west of Ayia Napa harbour, a short walk from the busiest part of town but with a different mood from the big sandy resort beaches. The shore is rocky and gravelly with small sandy patches, and the clear water is better for a quick swim or snorkel than for sprawling all day with children.
Its appeal is convenience and relative quiet. Facilities are close by, the coastal path runs past it, and the harbour is near enough for lunch or a boat trip afterwards. If you want classic soft sand, Nissi is the obvious choice; Katsarka is better when you want a low-key dip without leaving town.
