Chirala's attractions are modest but genuine. The handloom industry is the town's heartbeat — the cloth markets and weaving clusters around the main bazaar are worth exploring, and the Chirala saree (a fine cotton fabric with a distinctive texture) is available at source prices that city shops can't match. The beach is long, clean, and almost entirely empty of tourists. Suryalanka Beach, about 12 km south, is the most accessible stretch of coast and has a government-run resort nearby.
