Bhagwan Mahavir Government Museum

The Bhagwan Mahavir Government Museum is a small but worthwhile archaeological collection in central Kadapa. Exhibits cover the Rayalaseema region from prehistory through the Vijayanagara era: stone-age tools, megalithic burial finds, Buddhist sculptures from the early centuries CE, Hindu temple carvings, and a coin collection covering several south Indian dynasties.

It is best done in an hour. English captions are partial. Entry is free; the museum is generally closed on Fridays.
