Qutb Shahi Tombs

The domed tombs of the seven rulers of the Qutb Shahi dynasty, set in a garden landscape near Golconda. Some of the finest Deccan Islamic architecture in India: bulbous domes on tall drums, intricate stucco decoration, and a serene garden setting that rewards slow exploration. The complex was extensively restored by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture over several years, and the quality of the work shows. Combine the visit with Golconda Fort nearby — the two sites together make a full half-day out from the Old City.
