Warangal is well connected by train to Hyderabad (about 3 hours, frequent departures from Secunderabad) and to other major cities on the Hyderabad–Kazipet rail corridor. The Warangal Railway Station is centrally located and within reach of most heritage sites by autorickshaw or taxi.
By road, the NH163 connects Warangal to Hyderabad in about 3–4 hours depending on traffic. State buses run frequently. Private cars with drivers are easily arranged from Hyderabad for a day trip combining Warangal Fort, the Thousand Pillar Temple, and Bhadrakali Temple — the Ramappa Temple, being 70 km further, works best as a separate day trip or an overnight stay in Warangal.
