Bamuni Hills

Bamuni Hills holds carved stone remains usually dated to around the 9th and 10th centuries. The site is fragmentary, but the sculptural detail is strong enough to make it one of Tezpur's most rewarding historical stops.

It is not a tidy museum site, so bring patience and look closely. The appeal is in the surviving workmanship: figures, panels, and temple fragments that hint at a much richer sacred landscape.
