Indraprastha Park

Long Yamuna riverfront park running along the eastern edge of central Delhi

Indraprastha Park (also known as Millennium Park) is a long riverfront park running along the western bank of the Yamuna between IP Estate and Sarai Kale Khan. Opened in 2001 to mark the millennium, it offers Delhi's most accessible riverfront promenade — an unusual amenity in a city where the Yamuna is largely cut off from residential life. The park is best visited early in the morning when walkers, yoga practitioners, and cyclists use its paths.

A boat club at the southern end offers rowing boats and paddle boats for hire. The park also contains children's play areas, an open-air theatre, and several food kiosks. While the Yamuna here is not particularly scenic, the expanse of open sky and the relative quiet make it a welcome escape from the city's density.
