Sunder Nursery

16th-century Mughal heritage garden next to Humayun's Tomb, restored as a public park in 2018

Sunder Nursery is a 16th-century heritage park adjacent to Humayun's Tomb that was painstakingly restored and opened to the public in 2018. The 90-acre garden contains 70 heritage monuments — tombs, pavilions and gateways from the Mughal period — set within woodland walks, rose gardens, and an extensive collection of native Delhi trees. It forms part of the same UNESCO World Heritage zone as Humayun's Tomb.

The park is less visited than its famous neighbour, making it an excellent place for a quiet morning walk. Early risers are rewarded with birdsong: it is home to over 80 bird species. The gentle paths and well-maintained lawns make it accessible for all ages.
