Getting There

By train. Margao (also called Madgaon) is the main railway junction for South Goa, 6km from Colva on the Konkan Railway. Trains connect Margao to Mumbai, Pune, and cities across India. From Margao station, auto-rickshaws and shared buses run to Colva regularly throughout the day. The ride takes about 15–20 minutes.

By air. Goa International Airport (GOI, also known as Dabolim) is around 25km north of Colva. Taxis from the airport to Colva take 40–50 minutes depending on traffic and cost around ₹600–900 by prepaid taxi. Many visitors hire a scooter from Margao for the duration of their stay, which makes arriving by train the practical choice.

By bus. State and private buses link Margao to Panjim and other towns in Goa. From Margao's Kadamba bus stand, local buses run to Colva. If you're coming from Panjim or other points north, change at Margao.
